Paul White
Paul White is Professor and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Monash University. A cardiovascular pharmacologist and educational researcher, he has published 80 peer reviewed articles in journals including Nature, Nature Biotechnology, PNAS, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Higher Education Research & Development. In education, he has led a teaching transformation to active learning across his faculty over the past decade, and has given over 20 invited national and international talks at education conferences. He has multiple national teaching awards as well as the Vice Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Award from Monash University. Professor White is Chair of the Education Section of PharmAlliance.org and a Councillor of the IUPHAR Education Section. More recently he has focussed his efforts on the core concepts of pharmacology education, and co-leads the IUPHAR Education Section project on this topic.


Clare Guilding
Clare Guilding is Director of Education at Newcastle University School of Medicine, UK. A neuropharmacologist by background, her current focus is on research and leadership in pharmacology and medical education. She supports pharmacology education externally through her work as Chair of IUPHAR’s Education Section, Deputy Vice President (Academic Development) of the British Pharmacological Society (BPS), Deputy Director of the Pharmacology Education Project, and as the International Scientific Committee Education Lead for the World Congress of Pharmacology 2023. Clare played a key role in developing The BPS’s undergraduate pharmacology curriculum and Newcastle University’s Clinical Pharmacology, Therapeutics and Prescribing curriculum. She is currently co-lead of the IUPHAR Core Concepts in Pharmacology project. Clare has multiple national and international teaching awards including an AdvanceHE National Teaching Fellowship, BPS Australasian Visitor Award and Rang Prize, as well as the Vice-Chancellor’s Distinguished Teacher Award from Newcastle University.
Dr. Róisín Kelly-Laubscher, Ph.D. is Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology & Therapeutics at University College Cork, Ireland, and co-lead of the IUPHAR Core Concepts of Pharmacology initiative. She serves as a Councillor on the IUPHAR Education Committee and is currently establishing the Irish Pharmacology Educators Network to strengthen collaboration and scholarship among pharmacology educators. With a background in cardiovascular pharmacology, Dr Kelly-Laubscher brings strong disciplinary expertise to her educational research. Since 2011, she has developed a substantial, growing body of peer-reviewed education-focused publications (>20 by 2026), including numerous contributions to leading international journals. Her work focuses on concept-based curriculum design, advancing assessment practices in pharmacology, and strengthening alignment between learning outcomes, teaching approaches, and evaluation. She recently served as Guest Editor for a special issue on Assessment in Pharmacology for the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and has been an invited speaker at multiple conferences, including the British Pharmacological Society annual meetings and the World Congress of Pharmacology, on education-focused themes .
